Find out moreWhen carrying out imprvements works to your home, we'll need to compelte surveys to make sure the home is suitable and what works are required.
A thorough audit is the most accurate way of understanding the most suitable improvements for your home. This type of survey, conducted by a skilled and experienced retrofit assessor, will indicate the improvements needed to cut fuel bills and carbon emissions and improve comfort and health. It will consider things like your flood and radon gas risk levels and whether your existing ventilation system is adequate, alongside suggesting energy-efficiency improvements and options for your heating system. It should be tailored not just to your property but to your needs and circumstances and will also offer a range of different retrofit options.
Air pressure testing calculates the air tightness of a building, known as its ‘air permeability’ or ‘leakage’ rate. Air leakage is air that escapes the building via uncontrolled means. Leakage can occur through gaps, holes or cracks in the fabric of the building. Excessive air leakage can affect the building’s energy efficiency, making the building less energy efficient and more expensive to run.
A PIBI, or Pre-Installation Building Inspection, is a survey to plan how the improvements will be fitted to your home.
The PIBI ensures the installation is feasible, compliant with standards and the design is sound.
Once the works are complete, we will need to update our records to show the difference the imrpvemenats have made to your home. A surveyor will attend to carry out a Energy Performance survey which should take 30 minutes to complete. For more informaiton on EPCs click the link
