We’re upgrading some of our oldest or least energy-efficient homes to reduce their energy use and make them easier to heat. By making the homes more energy-efficient, we aim to make them warmer and easier to run.
It’s our job to make sure your home is maintained and kept in good condition in line with the Welsh Housing Quality Standards. As part of this, we regularly evaluate our homes to see what improvements need to be made.
When it is time for us to evaluate your home, we’ll get in touch with you and explain the process.
Your home will have a survey carried out, where a surveyor will review what you currently have, such as windows, heating system, insulation, and lighting. They will ask you some questions about your home.
An air test may be carried out assess how air-tight the property is and whether there are drafts.
The surveyor will make recommendations to us on what improvements need to be made.
To help us understand how the improvements have made a difference, environmental sensors might be installed on the ceiling to record changes to temperature, humidity and air quality in the home.
